One of our outstanding jobs on the bogie is to make sure that the bogie centre slide can move freely from side to side. First we need to check that the slide moves without the restraining V strips being fitted. Raddle (same as used for marking sheep) has been applied to the bottom of the centre slide (it's upside down in the photo) and then the centre slide is lowered into position on the bogie. When lifted out again, any contact points on the stretcher can be identified. Here Jim and Justin are removing the sharp edges from the lubrication grooves. |

The cab window frames arrived today. These have been made in oak by Osset Furnishing of Doncaster. |
