Here are the diary entries for this month. You can use the forward and backward links to see the next or previous months. Most photos taken before 2018 are small size. From 2018 onwards, most photos you see below will have a link to a full size image by clicking on the photo.
Small parts today. This is the Steady Bracket for Regulator Front Rod - work in progress. The bracket sits vertically bolted to another bracket fitted on the boiler - the bottom end is nearest the camera. The curved part now needs welding to the long part to result in a Y bracket. The bracket is one of those small items that's difficult to spot on photos. It's fitted about half way along the front regulator rod between the dome and the left hand feed water pipe.
There are 3 sand boxes on Class 6 and Class 7 Pacifics. This is either the front or intermediate sand box; the dimension from the centre line to the edge of the filling hole will determine which one it is. We also have the bigger rear sandbox in stock. These were purchased some time ago but now we've got our stock organised, it's time to have a good look at them. Ashley Shimwell got a coat of undercoat on the inside of this one. 2 of them need a bit more work to finish off the welding. The oval hole is an access hole so that sticking sand can be cleaned out.
