Tony, our main cylinder pattern maker has almost finished the first half of the main cylinder pattern. He says "The finished half of the cylinder is now filled and sanded to a fine surface, ready for a few coats of red 'pattern-coat'". Painting will take place outside as the paint is reported to be quite pungent. With this pattern off the lathe, it will be time to start on the second half of the main cylinder. Tony is aiming to start weighing the components of the pattern so we get an idea of the total weight. |
